Menuka Senaratne values being of service to others. It is a passion that stems from her commitment to empowering motivated individuals to develophealthy coping skills, express their needs, and resolve issues to achieve happiness and self-actualization. As an immigrant, she struggled with her mental health until she met a therapist who changed her life by taking her through a healing journey. Upon this foundation, she decided to pursue counseling and become a therapist. As a woman of color, she hopes to elevate the perception of mental health and promote early intervention for people in her community and others. In her commitment to becoming a licensed counselor, Menuka has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master’s Degree in counseling. She uses an integrated therapeutic approach incorporating existential, cognitive-behavioral, and emotion-focused theories and has training in mood-related disorders, relationship issues, family dysfunction, multicultural issues, and trauma. By combining her education and experience, she has acquired the knowledge to improve her clients’ outcomes and gained valuable skills to succeed, including a proven ability to connect easily with people. It gives her great satisfaction to see others in a better place emotionally, mentally, and physically.
